Recognizing the “Unsung CEOs” of Our Lives
DIMR Pune2026-03-21T07:15:10+00:00International Women’s Day at DIMR took a meaningful and experiential turn this year. Moving away from traditional celebrations, our MBA and MCA students came together in the seminar hall for a unique showcase titled: “Corporate Lessons from the Unsung CEOs: The Women in Our Lives.”
A Different Perspective
The initiative, guided by Dr. Manisha Jagtap (HoD, MBA), challenged students to look at Women’s Day through a lens of recognition rather than just celebration. Instead of symbolic gestures, students were encouraged to identify core management pillars—Leadership, Ethics, Financial Planning, Resilience, and Discipline—within the women they see every day: their mothers, sisters, colleagues, and mentors.
The Event Highlights
Collaborative Learning: In a wonderful display of synergy, mixed groups of students worked together to produce short, impactful videos.
The Tribute: The session opened with a moving tribute where students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the women who have served as their first teachers of ethics and discipline, acknowledging that their current success is a result of this foundational guidance.
The Presentations: Different groups presented videos that decoded how “Unsung CEOs” at home manage complex “organizations” with zero room for error, providing real-world corporate lessons that no textbook can fully capture.
The Takeaway
The event concluded with a powerful realization: Women’s Day is a recognition of influence. By shifting the perspective, students didn’t just celebrate a day; they honored the discipline and values that have shaped their professional identities.
As we believe at DIMR, education is most powerful when it is experiential. Today, we didn’t just talk about leadership; we recognized it in its most authentic form.
